 The Lake District and the Cumbrian Mountains and countryside have always been a popular destination, and these holidays promise to be a delight for those who wish to enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery in Britain, with vast stretches of inland water, dramatic mountains, rolling countryside, ancient woodlands and historic villages. An excursion is included each day - the area of the lakes is quite vast, so, to ensure leisurely days, we will spend one day exploring the Northern Lakes, and the other journeying through the south of the area - such familiar names as Ullswater, Bassenthwaite Lake, Windermere, Keswick, Patterdale, Wordsworth's village of Grasmere, the Kirkstone Pass and much more will all be included. The other day will be spent just over the Scottish border, visiting Gretna Green and the town of Moffat.
