The island of Jersey is unique. Nine miles by five, it is only twelve miles from the French coast, yet is English speaking and no passports are required. Its' climate is usually better than mainland UK and is ideal for sunbathing on the beaches that stretch for over twenty miles around the island. There is, of course, the added benefit of duty-free shopping! You decide how quiet or busy you want your holiday to be - there's so much to see and do, but plenty of spots to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Because so much of Jersey is rural, there is every opportunity to find peace and quiet. This is particularly true of the designated 'Green Lanes', where cars are discouraged and pedestrians, bicycles and horses have priority. There are also rugged coastal walks and clifftop views around the fifty miles of coastline. Many sightseeing tours, including whole island tours, are available daily. For the more independent there is plenty of public transport to take you to whichever part of the island you wish, including the 'Petit Train', which follows a 30 minute route, with a guide on board, through the four parishes along St. Aubin's Bay, with four stops. Please ask your holiday representative or the hotel reception staff for advice. They will be happy to book excursions for you and also advise about car hire, which, is reasonably inexpensive. However please remember your driving licence (age limits 21 to 80 years). You can also take advantage of regular sailings available for day trips to St. Malo in France - please remember for this you will need your passport. Please be advised that the airline requires all passengers to carry photographic identification (eg Passport, Photo Driving Licence). If you are unsure please call us for further advice. Please note that all of our Jersey holidays are operated in conjunction with ATOL Licence Holders
